Background and interests: I was an active member of the "Seamans Union" (member of ILO)and the "Restaurant Association" in Denamrk (the country) I have recently moved "home" after 20 plus years abroad and I am amazed. The unions are almost non-existent and most disturbing people don't care for their own rights.
The SeaMans Union, is the oldest and most powerful union in Denmark, they negotiate world wide, have conducted strikes and activities around the world.
I am a former sailor (chef) I was taught the basics concerning dignity and human rights in my years at sea.
I miss my union activity, and people who are proud of themselves. People are scared here.
