I Call For a Communicate or Die Convention

I think a convention could work very well. One other topic of interest: Using online organizing campaigns.
Is there other interest in participating in a convention?

LaborTech is good venue
I think meeting is a good idea, but as a general rule I favor networking existing resources and strengthening the ties between our various efforts. (For example, if there is already a good list of links to official unions, it's better to link to it, or copy it with permission, than create another.)
In that spirit, it makes more sense to me to use existing venues like the LaborTech conference or the Labor Notes conference in May to gather those interested in the discussions on this site.
Both conferences would be open to proposals/suggestions for workshops, meetings, panels etc. And brining the tech and not so tech activists together in the same space would be good for all involved.
I helped organize a couple of meetings of Labor Educators at the Labor Notes conferences a few years ago. It was a great experience. As a first step we could do the same for Labor Internet types this time round.
LaborTech 2006, Bay Area
On that note, planning is underway for a LaborTech conference in October of '06, likely somewhere in the Bay Area. More conference specifics will be posted as they become available - just a heads up.
